Alison's Quick Asian Style Marinade
I keep these 'Marinade Basics' ingredients on hand throughout BBQ season. You can whip it together in the morning, before work, and let the flavours do their work all day!
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari)
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
Method:
- Combine all of the ingredients in a shallow, airtight, resealable container and whisk well until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add protein of your choice such as a lb of boneless skinless chicken thighs or a single pork tenderloin. Coat well and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
- BBQ on medium heat until it has reached the desired internal temperature. If using pork tenderloin, cover in foil and allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Feel free to multiply the recipe based on the amount of protein you are preparing.
- Optional add-in: 1/2 tsp of chili paste for heat
